🌈 Colour Up Your Life 🌈 . On our recent visit to Venice we decided to take a day trip to the little fishing village of Burano in the Venetian Lagoon 🎣 . The small island is only a short boat ride away from Venice and is famous for its colourful houses as well as its lace making, which dates back to the 1500s 🪡 . Legend has it that the fishermen painted the houses in bright colours so that they could find their way around the canals in thick fog 😶‍🌫️ . Under The Divi-Divi Tree? 🤔🌴🇦🇼 . Aruba is famous for many things! The stunning beaches 🏖 the desert landscapes 🏜 and some of the best wreck diving in the Caribbean 🤿 . Yet one thing everybody remembers from their trip to Aruba is the Divi-Divi (Watapana) Tree. A tree that looks kinda like a bonsai having a bad hair day 🌴✂️ . One of the most iconic images of the Divi-Divi tree can be found on Eagle Beach, but here’s a secret - it’s actually a Fofoti Tree 😱 . They both look similar but the Fofoti only grows on beaches where as Divi-Divi is found mainly inland and all over Aruba’s mainland 🏝 . One Happy Island 🏝🇦🇼… One Happy Birthday Girl 😁 . Happy birthday to my Zuzi - my travel partner in crime! I think you’ll agree that she deserves something special this year 🎉🎁 . So we spent the day on Renaissance Island in Aruba. Apparently there’s a little beach there with some pink birds roaming around or something 🏝 . We were at Flamingo Beach (which is obviously world famous 😜) where we enjoyed the sun ☀️ sea 🌊 iguanas 🦎 and the flamingos 🦩 . Wishing you all a very Happy New Year 😁 . 2021 was a year where I learned how to be grateful for what I have instead of what I could/should have🙏🏻 It was a year where we discovered more beautiful corners of our own country 🇬🇧 - visiting the stunning Isle of Skye in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and Isles of Scilly in Cornwall - UK’s answer to the Mediterranean 🏝 (and where Prince William regularly visits!) . We reconnected with nature on our numerous, long hikes up and down the country 🥾 we swam with seals in the wild 🦭 and we even managed the small feat of climbing the three highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours ⛰ . We also sneaked off for a lovely week in Cyprus 🇨🇾☀️ my 50th country 🌍 . With the year now over it’s time to look to 2022 👀 a year where we’ll continue to discover parts of the UK 🇬🇧 live and eat healthy 👟 and try as many new things as possible 😅 Oh and there might be the odd adventure or two… or three… or f… ✈️ .
